​​Mass Communications

Mass Communications is in its inaugural year.  Students will look at four different areas that comprise mass communications including Advertising, Broadcasting, Marketing, and Public Relations.  Students will be creating their own businesses and marketing plans as well as immerse themselves in broadcasting needs and techniques.

First semester will give an overview of each of the areas and the how each area affects peoples ideas, perceptions, and buying patterns.  Second semester will build upon the ideas but focus more directly on the effect mass communications has on sports: how we perceive different teams, player actions, and interests.

In the class, the students will learn technical writing styles, analytical approaches and techniques as well as evaluate current media and communications.
